All students in MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) and MMSP (Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program) courses must sign a waiver.

  • Basic Rider Course
  • If I change my mind, can I get my money back?
    • A 100% refund, less a $25.00 processing fee will be issued if the registrant cancels the class MORE than 7 days in advance.  Refunds will not be issued if the registrant cancels less than 7 days prior to the opening of the class.
    • If the instructor determines the student is not eligible to complete the class or if the student voluntarily decides to leave the class, refunds will not be issued.
    • If you need to reschedule, we will charge a $10.00 reschedule fee and you must reschedule MORE than 7 days in advance.
    • If you are late for any class session, you will not be able to participate and you will forfeit your enrollment fee.
  • What if I am late or miss a class?
    • Students must attend all sessions.  Missing a session or being late will automatically disqualify you, and you will not receive a refund.
  • What size motorcycles do you use?
    • We use 250 cc or smaller motorcycles of varying body styles.
  • Do I need a permit to take the class?
    • You do not need a motorcycle license or permit to take the BRC (Basic Rider Course).  However,  you must bring your driver’s license or permit with you.
  • How old must I be to take the class?
    • Minimum age is fifteen and a half.  If you are under the age of 18, parent/legal guardian must sign a waiver.  We will require parent’s drivers license for identification.
  • What qualifications do I need to take the class?
    • Students must be able to balance and ride a bicycle.  If it has been a long time since you rode a bicycle, we suggest you spend an hour or so on one to regain your two-wheel balance.
  • What is the cost for the BRC (Basic Rider Course)?
    • The cost of the BRC is $250.00
  • Do I need to pay for the class up front?
    • Yes, students are registered on a first come, first served, prepaid basis.  You must pay for the class before your spot is secured.  You are not guaranteed the spot until payment is made.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    • We accept cash, check, American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover (credit or debit cards).  If you are mailing your payment, our address is 4804 Noland Rd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
  • Do I need a motorcycle to take the class?
    • No.  We supply the  motocycles for the BRC (Basic Rider Course).
  • Do I need a helmet?
    • If you own one, you will probably be more comfortable with your own helmet.  Helmets must be DOT approved 3/4 or full face only.  Half helmets and novelty helmets will not be allowed.  We do have loaner helmets available.  If your instructor determines that your helmet is not legal or does not fit properly, you will be required to wear one of ours.
  • What other items will I need in order to ride?
    • Long pants, preferably jeans, without flared legs or holes.
    • Long sleeved shirt or jacket.
    • Full-fingered gloves
    • Sturdy, over-the-ankle footwear with non-slip soles.  Heels must be low or flat, no extremely thick soles.
    • Eye protection
    • Helmet (DOT approved 3/4 or full faced.)
    • Rain suit (optional).
  • Where can I get a Motorcycle Operation Manual for the Missouri written test?
    • You can pick up a copy free of charge at any MO DMV location or by visiting the MO DOR website by clicking HERE.
  • What do I get when I complete the class?
    • The completion card issued upon passing the course will entitled Missouri riders to skip the skills test when seeking a motorcycle endorsement. (Kansas riders cannot use a Missouri completion certificate to bypass the state test.)
    • Many insurance companies will also give you a discount on your motorcycle insurance.
    • In addition, many of the motorcycle owner clubs provide re-reimbursement of a portion of your fee.  Check with your club to make sure,  or ask your dealer if you’re purchasing a new bike.
  • What if it rains?
    • Classes run rain or shine.  If rain is in the forecast, bring your rain gear.
  • May I sit in on the class when my son/daughter/wife/husband/other takes the class?
    • You will NOT be able to sit it on the classroom portion of the training.  We cannot stop anyone from watching the outside activities because it is a public place.  It is a bad idea to watch.  It bothers people.  Please keep this in mind.  If you watch, please be quiet and respectful of everyone taking the class.  If you are disruptive or interject yourself into the class, the person you are interested in will be dismissed for safety reasons.  WE NEED THEIR FULL ATTENTION!
  • What are the completion requirements?
    • Attend all sessions.
    • You must be on time
    • Pass a written test on the course material.
    • Pass an on-bike skills evaluation.
  • What if I do not pass?
    • If you completed the course but did not pass the skills evaluation, you make take the Additional Rider BRC.  If you did not complete the course, you must retake the entire course.  Passing the course is not guaranteed.
